Alachua County Fertilizer Free

Alachua County Florida’s Environmental Protection Department focuses on fertilizer application behaviors and educates residents on the July - February fertilizer ban. The Hazardous Waste Collection Center collects old and unused fertilizer for proper disposal. A perfect opportunity for message synergy – “Skip the Fertilizer this year! Bring that unwanted fertilizer to the HWCC for proper disposal.” Our team at Uppercase, Inc. created a campaign consisting of billboards, T-shirts, stickers, display boards, and a mailer on the fertilizer ordinance in partnership with GRU that was sent directly to 70,000 households. We partnered with local nature photographer, John Moran, to incorporate historic and current Florida springs images into the Fertilizer Free outreach materials, including animating some of his most profound captures for a thirty-second TV commercial. We were able to further leverage this partnership to use additional photos at no cost for the Springs Recreation “Feet Up & Float” campaign.
